Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a ‘real’ studio?

Yes. Unlike most photographers, we have a commercial space studio where we can offer indoor sessions year-round with a wide variety of backgrounds. Gone are the days of depending on the weather. (However, we do offer outdoor sessions.) We also have two private dressing rooms for use during sessions.

What are your session fees?

Session fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable without 48-hours notice. Please call us for more information. We offer senior sessions, cap & gown sessions, family studio sessions, outdoor sessions and yearbook only sessions for our contracted high schools.

What does the session fee include?

The session fee includes the time with our professional photographer. Our photographer will take a wide variety of shots for you to have as many options as possible with different backgrounds, poses and props, depending on the session. Prints and digital images are not included in the session fee.

When do I get to see my portraits?

Immediately! There is no wait. We will show you your images immediately after your session on one of our super-sized monitors.

Can I view my images online?

Yes, we understand that sometimes not all family members can make it to your session and their opinions can weigh heavily on your decisions. We post all session galleries to our website where you can view them from the comfort of your own home and also give you the option to share them with other family members for viewing at their leisure. All galleries are assigned a unique password.

I’ve placed an order, what is the turnaround time?

Our typical turnaround time is 2-3 weeks for portraits. During our Peak Season (July-October) turnaround time can be up to 4-6 weeks. Please understand that we want to always deliver the best quality possible and quality takes time.

The turnaround time for high resolution digital images is approximately 3-5 business days after any pending organization deadline. It is not an immediate download as all high resolution images go through our retouching department beforehand.

How long do you keep my session on file?

We keep your gallery available online for five years.

What if I want to make copies of my prints?

All images remain the property of Southern Images Photography and are protected by Federal Copyright laws. Duplication in part or whole (whether by scanning, reprinting, or taking a photograph of a photograph) is strictly prohibited and can be prosecuted by law. Should you wish to be able to have the ability to make as many copies of any image, we suggest that you purchase the high resolution digital image which also comes with the copyright release.

Do you offer graduation announcements or any type of stationery?

Yes, we can custom design graduation announcements, thank you cards, invitations or holiday greeting cards with portraits from your session. Call us today to schedule a sales appointment.

I want to buy a high resolution image of a team picture, but the shopping cart will not let me. Why?

We do not sell high resolution digital images of any of the group pictures of teams or organizations to individual customers. We will be happy to provide the images for use in programs and ads by sending the images directly to the printer of said advertisements. We also will be happy to provide the images for your yearbooks directly to the yearbook department. Should you want to use a picture of an individual from the team or organization gallery in an ad or program, you will need to purchase the high resolution digital image with copyright release of said individual.

The low resolution/social media image has a watermark on it. Why is that?

The low resolution/social media image is not a high resolution file. This image is watermarked across the subject for purposes of sharing across social media platforms or use in a digital frame only. This purchase is non-refundable as stated within the gallery. Please be sure that this is the image file you wish to order.
